VISITORS
Many visitors came to Emusoi in
2010. They came from many countries and different
parts of Tanzania. Some heard of Emusoi on the
website but others represented foundations that
support one or more students, government agencies
and leaders wanting to network with us or ask aid
for students from their own areas. Some are parents
and relatives of girls we support. Other groups
came to offer help for a few weeks or for several
months. The Australian Christian Brothers brought
young people for an exposure/aid program for 2
weeks.
Several groups of students
became pen-pals with our pre-form 1 students. A
group of Girls Scouts from New Jersey who were
studying for a badge in African Culture sent clothes
for our Pre-form I girls. Four granddaughters of a 2nd
time visitor and donor, Joy Davies, sewed bags and
learned about Tanzania and Emusoi. They filled the
bags with pens, pencils, erasers and other school
supplies for our students. Joy delivered these when
she came on her 2nd visit.
All these visitors not only
encourage us in our work but also they learn about
Emusoi and then pass on the experience to others who
can also help us in the work of the education of
young Pastoralist women.
