Emusoi Graduation

On Nov. 5^th we held our 12th graduation celebration for 85 girls who completed form 4.  Mr. Nyaga Mawala was the guest of honor.  Mr. Mawala is a prominent lawyer in Arusha.  In his speech to the graduates he asked them what their basic rights were i.e. to life, food, a place to live, education etc.  He then challenged them to pursue their studies so they could help ensure these rights for themselves, their families and communities.  He encouraged some of them to pursue studies in law.

Many more parents than in previous years attended the celebrations.  This is a good indication to us that changes are happening in the Pastoralist Communities and that slowly people are looking more favorably on the education of their daughters and sisters.  The form 4 graduates are now waiting for the results of their exams.
